The Representation and Standardization of Knowledge for Future Cities Workshop was held by our School

The Representation and Standardization of Knowledge for Future Cities workshop was organized and held by School of Information Resource Management of Renmin University from April 28 to May 2, 2021. Dr. Mark Fox, Distinguished Professor from University of Toronto, presented in this five-day workshop focused on knowledge representation and standardization in the context of smart cities. This online workshop was attended by more than 130 participants.

Dr. Fox delivered lectures on topics including challenges of city knowledge, representation and ontologies of knowledge, construction of knowledge ontologies, and international standards on smart cities. Using rich examples and visualizations, Dr. Fox introduced the ontological approaches to smart cities and the latest developments of the ISO/IEC 21972 and ISO/IEC 5087 standards. This workshop is part of a series of training sessions organized by the school.
