Dr. Ming Ren, an associate professor from our school, and Dr. Ziqi Zhang from iSchool@University of Sheffield, UK have won the grant reward funded jointly by Renmin University of China and University of Sheffield in 2019. The application is entitled “Towards a big data driven approach to tackling urban water logging – a scoping study”. The project aims to develop a deep understanding of the multi-dimensional disparate data sources used in the emergency management and identify key trends that inform future research agendas and practices.
Dr. Ren and Dr. Zhang will organize a workshop with the theme “Big data in emergency management (BD4EM)”at iConference 2020. Academic researchers, practitioners and policy makers with interest and/or involvement in related issues are welcome to participate in the workshop.
