Dr. Zhou Xiaoying was invited to give a lecture titled “Information and Health” at the Yangtze River Forum on November 21, a public lecture series hosted by the Hubei Provincial Library. She discussed how to use information to maintain a healthy lifestyle and make health-related decisions. This lecture attracted more than 1,000 audiences online.
In recent years, Dr. Zhou’s team has focused on the field of health informatics, and successfully undertaken projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, the Key Program of the National Social Science Foundation, and other grant funders. They have published a series of papers on health informatics and health information behavior in important academic journals, and offered a few related courses at the university.
After the outbreak of COVID-19, Renmin University of China has established the Major Innovation Platform for Public Health, which was jointly participated by our school and the School of Public Administration, the School of Sociology and Population Studies, and the School of Statistics. Dr. Zhou, one of the principal leaders of this project, participated in the construction of this highly interdisciplinary platform.
