The Young Scholar Conference on Library, Information and Archives Management was successfully held at the School of Information Management of Nanjing University from November 1 to 3, 2020. It was co-hosted by the School of Information Management at Wuhan University, School of Information Resource Management at Renmin University of China, and Department of Information Management at Peking University.
Under the theme of “Dialogue between Information, Archives and Library Occupation Guides and University Education,” information scholars and professionals gathered to discuss the developments of LIS and archive sciences in China. This conference is held both in-person and virtually, attracting more than 8,000 participants on both venues.
Over 10 faculty members from our school attended this conference. Dr. Feng Huiling, the convener of LIS and Archives Academic Reviews Committee of this conference, gave a opening speech. She reviewed the developments of our field and highlighted the contributions of this conference to our community. She particularly praised young researchers, around the newly-formed 39 Salon, for their vigilance.
Dr. Liu Yuenan, the Dean of our school, gave a keynote speech entitled “Computational Archives: The New Development of Archives.”
A number of other faculty members from our school presented their research on this conference. A total of 11 papers from our school were accepted by this conference and presented. The paper written by Dr. Niu Li received the Best Paper Award.
In the end of the conference, Dr. Yan Hui announced that the Young Scholar Conference 2021 will be held by the Department of Information Management of Peking University.
