On December 18th, RUC Chairwoman Jin Nuo met with Professor Sam Oh, the Chair of iSchools. The iSchools organization is an alliance of a collective of top Information Schools in the world. Chairwoman Jin Nuo presented Professor Sam Oh the letter of Appointment as Member of the Expert Advisory Committee of RUC “Double First-Class” Construction.

Chairwoman Jin Nuo welcomed Sam Oh’s second visit to RUC. Jin Nuo thanked Sam Oh and iSchools Board of Directors for their support and trust on RUC’s bid on iConference 2021. Jin Nuo said that this conference was both important for iSchools and RUC. Jin Nuo also thanked Chair Oh’s acceptance to be a member of the Expert Advisory Committee of RUC “Double First-Class” Construction. She pointed that RUC and iSchools both with human concerns should take responsibilities for dealing with the challenges for human beings in the context of modern technology development.

During the meeting, Professor Sam Oh especially thanked RUC’s huge support for iSchools. iSchools alliance is promoting the idea of people-oriented data science and digital humanities education. The School of Information Resource Management of RUC has made remarkable achievements in digital humanities education. Professor Feng Huiling is recruited as advisor for digital humanities course committee in iSchools and has played a very important role. Sam Oh highly praised that as a Board member, the School of Information Resource Management of RUC played leading role and made remarkable contributions in the whole process. He also hoped to deepen the cooperation between the SungKyunkwan University and the Renmin University of China and as well as cooperation between the Library & Information Science and Data Science Department and the School of Information Resource Management, for more remarkable achievements and co-promotion of international influence.

Professor Zhang Bin, Dean of the School of Information Resources Management, Vice Dean and Associate Professor Yan Hui, and Professor Wang Jian, the representative of Dean from iSchool of RUC in iSchools attended the meeting.
