Faculty and students of SIRM attended the ASIS&T 2019 annual conference in Australia

From October 19 to October 23, Yan Hui, associate professor, SIRM, Renmin University of China, and Han Yanfang, doctoral candidate of the class of 2019, and Han Leiqian, postgraduate student of the class of 2019, went to Melbourne, Australia to attend the 2019 Annual Meeting of The Association for Information Science & Technology(ASIS&T2019).

The ASIS&T conference, sponsored by the American Association for Information Science and Technology, is the premier international conference on information science and technology to advance research in information, people and technology in today’s society. The theme of this session is Information…Anyone, anywhere, anytime, anyway. Information is at the root of major changes in economic, social, scientific, political, and personal behavior, however, this can only happen if the information is delivered to the right organization in the right ways, at the right time and in the right place. Scholars, researchers and practitioners from all over the world participated in the conference to discuss how to use information science and technology to meet the major challenges of the 21st century.

During the meeting, teachers and students of SIRM actively participated in academic reports and discussions. Associate professor Yan hui and his student Han Yanfang presented the Book or Screen? A Preliminary Study on Preschool Children’s Reading and ICT Using Behaviors in the form of posters. And in the form of posters, Han Leiqian shows the Investigation of the impacts of family restriction strategy on Chinese children’s smartphone use behaviors.
