Symposium on the Development of Library, Information and Archives Management 2019 was Held in Beijing

October 18-20, 2019, in accordance with the spirit of documents such as Academic Degree Office of the State Council [2018] No.16 and No.20, Symposium on the Development of Library, Information and Archives Management 2019 was held in Beijing.

The conference was chaired by Professor Chen Chuanfu. Firstly, Professor Feng Huiling introduced the main purpose of the seminar. She pointed out that the Academic Degree Office of the State Council required the subject consultative group to carry out its work actively in discipline construction. She emphasized that the seminar was held in the critical period of discipline construction.

Then, professor Zhang Bin reported the compilation of the “Core Curriculum Guide for Graduate students in Library, Information and Archives Management Discipline” which was recommended to the Office of Academic Degree of the State Council.

Then, Professor Qian Minghui and Professor Si Li, on behalf of the First-tier Discipline Development Report Editing Research Group of Library, Information and Archives Management introduced the compilation of the first-tier discipline development report and explained the research process and results of the domestic and foreign discipline development respectively.

Finally, all participants carried out an in-depth discussion on the development strategy of first-tier discipline. Based on the experience gained and the challenges faced in discipline construction by each unit, all participants discussed the trend and direction of discipline development.
