Work Meeting of the Discipline Review Group of Library, Information and Archives Management held in Beijing in 2019

From May 10 to 12, 2019, in accordance with the spirit of records such as Degree Office of the State Council [2018] No. 16 and Degree Office [2018] No. 20, the working meeting of the Discipline Review Group of Library, Information and Archives Management of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council was held in Beijing. Professor Feng Huiling, First Convenor of Discipline Review Group, Second Convenor of Discipline Review Group, Professor Chen Chuanfu, Dean of Graduate School of Wuhan University, Professor Ke Ping, Department of Information Resources Management, Nankai University Business School, Professor Wang Yuguang, Department of Information Management, Peking University, Professor Xia Lixin, Vice President of Central China Normal University, Professor Zhang Xiaolin, Documentation and Information Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences Professor Zhu Qinghua, Vice Dean of the School of Information Management of Beijing University, Professor Zhang Bin, Secretary-General of the Review Group, and Professor Lu Wei, Vice Dean of the School of Information Management of Wuhan University, Professor Si Li, Professor Xu Yongjun, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of our College, Professor Yan Hui and Professor Qian Minghui attended the meeting.

 

The meeting was chaired by Professor Chen Chuanfu and Professor Feng Huiling. Firstly, Professor Feng Huiling conveys the spirit of the Symposium on the quality assurance of degree and postgraduate education organized by the Ministry of Education. Especially, he focuses on the content of the Symposium on improving the quality of postgraduate education, promoting the construction and development of disciplines, and the working mechanism and requirements of the subject evaluation team.
Then, all the members of the evaluation team discussed and adopted the work programme of the First-Level Discipline authorization point eligibility assessment. The evaluation team heard Professor Zhang Bin's report on the preliminary plan of the accreditation spot qualification evaluation of the first-level disciplines, and discussed the organization and implementation requirements of the evaluation work, and arranged the specific implementation of the evaluation work.
In addition, all members of the review group also discussed in detail the revised draft of the basic conditions for applying for the authorization points of the first-level disciplines. On the basis of listening to Professor Xu Yongjun's comparison of the basic conditions for applying for doctoral degree authorization and master's degree authorization in library, information and archives management (1205) and other management disciplines, such as management science and engineering (1201), Business Administration (1202), agricultural and forestry economic management (1203), public management (1204), etc., the review group combined with the actual conditions and development of the subject. Considering the guidance, the basic conditions of the degree authorization point in the subject direction, personnel size, personnel structure, subject leaders and academic backbone, training overview, scientific research, academic exchanges, support conditions and other aspects were reviewed and revised one by one.
Finally, the review team validated the documents such as "Guidelines for Core Courses of Graduate Students in Grade I Disciplines" and "Report on the Development of Graduate Disciplines in Grade I Disciplines". The review team first listened to Professor Yan Hui's and Professor Si Li's reports on the drafting of "Core Curriculum Guidelines for Graduate Students in Grade I Disciplines" and "Development Report for Graduate Students in Grade I Disciplines", and then examined the relevant contents of the above documents one by one, focusing on the development experience, problems and prospects of undergraduate science.
At the end of the working session, the panel also carried out research and Discussion on issues related to the development strategy of the first-level disciplines and other matters.
