On December 31, 2018, “2019 Library, Information and Archives Management Young Scholars Salon” was held at RUC. 39 young scholars from 34 universities in China attended the conference. Focusing on the theme of “discipline inheritance and future prospects”, each participating scholar made a speech on the two topics: core knowledge and future development direction of the first-level discipline.

Professor Feng Huiling and Professor Zhang Bin participated in the salon and delivered a speech.

After the Conference, 39 young scholars from the conference released the " 2019 Library, Information and Archives Management Young Scholars Salon: Proposal of Academic Community ", which focused on exploring the core knowledge of the first-level discipline and looking forward to the future development of the discipline, and issued three proposal: One is to keep in mind the mission and move forward; the other is to cooperate sincerely and innovate; and the third is to travel thousands of miles, starting at the foot.

The Salon also formed the article " Core Knowledge and Development Direction of Library, Information and Archives Management——Review of the 2019 Library, Information and Archives Management Young Scholars Salon ", published in Journal of Library Science in China, 2019, No.1 .

The young scholar salon is an attempt to establish a platform for academic exchange among young scholars in the academic circles of Library, Information and Archives Management.
