In order to implement the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council [2018] No. 16 and [2018] No. 20 documents, from November to December 2018, the Discipline Review Group of Library, Information and Archives Management, Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, conducted Field survey on the development of first-level discipline and postgraduate core courses. The research work aims to understand the development history, current status and future planning report of each degrees conferring spots, and solicit opinions on the preliminary draft of the discipline development report and the preliminary draft of the postgraduate core courses report. As the convener of the discipline review group, School of Information Resource Management organized and participated in the survey.
The research object of this survey included the School of Management of Hebei University, the School of Public Administration of Xiangtan University, the School of Social Sciences of Suzhou University, the School of Information Management of Sun Yat-sen University, the School of Public Administration of Sichuan University, the School of Economics and Management of Shanxi University, and the School of Management of Jilin University.
The research work on the discipline development and postgraduate core courses has received strong support from various degrees conferring spots. The first round of questionnaire surveys was supported by 55 national library and information management degrees conferring spots. The seven degrees conferring spots selected in the second round of Field survey covered the doctoral degrees and master degrees conferring spots of first-level disciplines in the eastern, central, western, southern and northern regions. Through in-depth Field survey, the research team collected typical problems encountered in the development of the first-level discipline, and suggestions and opinions on the development of the discipline at each degree conferring spots. It has important reference value for perfecting the development report of the discipline, publishing Postgraduate Core Courses Guidelines, and even the future development plan of first-level discipline.
