Su Chen and Heather I. Briston from UCLA Library visited SIRM@iSchool

20th to 22nd of October, East Asian Studies Librarian, Head of EAL, Su Chen and Head of Curators and Collections, Heather I. Briston from UCLA Library were invited to visit SIRM@iSchool. Prof. Zhang Bin, Dean of the SIRM, Prof. Chuanjun Suo, Dr. Xiaoshuang Jia and Dr. Zhenyuan Zhu attended the symposium.

                                             

The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Richard C. Rudolph East Asia Library (EAL) is one of the most important, comprehensive and most commonly used East Asian collections in North America. It is also the largest East Asian collection in Southern California, and holds a large number of precious East Asian collections. Collect books.

First of all, Prof. Zhang expressed warm welcome to the arrival of Prof. Chen and Prof.  Briston. Then, Dr. Jia introduced the training plans of archival science and library science. Finally, both sides discussed the similarities and differences of undergraduate training and subject setting models between China and the United States. At the symposium, the two sides held preliminary discussions on student internships and project cooperation, and said that they will continue to advance in the follow-up.

After the symposium, Prof. Zhang expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Chen and Prof. Briston for their arrival again and took a group photo.
