At pm2:30, Mar 14,SIRM and School of history hosted the public lecture——“origin, development and present situation of Luban Dowel Animal Plastic Art ”.The lecture was hold at 0101,Minfa Builinding,which was the first lecture for SIRM 60 Years Anniversary. Professor Leyun Feng was the speaker.

　　First of all, the Secretary of the Vice Party , Ji Hongbo introduced the speaker——Professor Leyun。The professor was teaching at SIRM. When he retired, he researched the “Luban Dowel Animal Plastic Art” and insisted to create the animal model.

　　Secondly, the host broadcasted documentaries about Professor Leyun applied to Beijing’s Safeguard of The Intangible Cultural Heritage. The documentary presented its traditional characteristics. Because of it is strange and beautiful, this form of art is named “Safeguard of The Intangible Cultural Heritage of Changping”.

　　Allegedly, the Professor liked woodworking and painting when he was young. In his teacher’s guidance, he made a bamboo lion which was sent to Yangzhou City Exhibition. When he worked in Palace Museum, he protected historical relics and made a decision to make dowel animal plastic. After the Professor retired, he began to make twelve bamboo lions one year. To make the plastic more and more beautiful, he also went to visit the painters and cattle farmers.

　　This lecture was lively and interesting. The students put forward a lot of questions, and the Professor answered them enthusiastically. “Luban Dowel Animal Plastic Art” is the “Safeguard of The Intangible Cultural Heritage ” and the wealth of people. Thanks to the old Professor Feng Leyun for his wonderful lectures and diligently spirit.
