Associate professor Huang Xiaoyu does visiting research in UBC

Sep 3, 2006, Associate professor Huang Xiaoyu went to the School of Library, Archival and Information Studies (Slais) at the University of British Columbia (UBC) to do visiting research for half a year. This project of training backbone teachers of the youth is funded by the China Scholarship Council and Renmin University of China.

Associate professor Huang Xiaoyu’s research topic is "the Up-to-date Development of Archives Access and Archival Education in North America". This project combined with her other project "Research on the Archives Accessing Policies and archives developing strategies at the Society Reforming Time" and was designed by her research interest. Associate professor Huang researched and studied successfully in UBC. She joined the archives classes like "Archives justice and Administration of Canada" and "History and Education of Archives Specialty in Canada" and so on; researched in the Archives of UBC and Vancouver City Archives; gave lecture on "the Up-to-date Characters of Chinese Archives Education" to the graduates of Slais; had regular discussion with archives teachers of Slais and listened several lectures on archives and information specialty in Slais.
