Feng Huiling, Dean of SIRM and Professor Wang Jian attended "the Second Asia and Pacific Conference on Archival Education" with the Invitation of ICA/SAE
After SIRM organized the First Asia-Pacific Conference on Archival Education, Oct 17-19, 2006, the Second Asia and Pacific Conference on Archival Education was held in Tokyo of Japan. 72 delegates from 13 countries attended this conference to have warm discussion on the theme of "The Archival Science and Archival Education in the Electronic Age".
FENG Huiling, Dean of SIRM and Professor Wang Jian from SIRM, as Chinese commissioners of ICA/SAE and the organizer of the First Asia-Pacific Conference on Archival Education, gave presentations in the conference on behalf of SIRM and the initiator of next Asia-Pacific Conference on Archival Education. On the presentation, they extended their warm congratulations to the success of the Second Asia and Pacific Conference on Archival Education; propagandized SIRM and the rich outcomes got by SIRM in the First Asia-Pacific Conference on Archival Education; gave new advice on the current situation and characters of archival education in China and on the cooperation in the archival education and research in the Asia and Pacific.
Hans Scheurkogel, president of ICA/SAE (http://www.ica.org/body.php?pbodycode=SAE&plangue=eng) said ICA/SAE would seriously considered these excellent advice and expressed his great appreciation to all the participants of the First Asia-Pacific Conference on Archival Education which was held in Beijing and to SIRM who extremely succeeded held the First Asia-Pacific Conference on Archival Education.
Asia-Pacific Conference on Archival Education is an important activity of ICA/SAE (2004-2008). After China and Japan held these two conferences successively, Korea or Malaysia will be the organizer of the next conference.
