May 24, 2006, professor Wang Jian of information and resources management school of Renmin University of China, was invited to join fellow alumni, current students and friends of the University for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, presentations and discussions with University of Michigan guests: Steve Grafton, President, Alumni Association of U-M, Event Host and Facilitator in Beijing American Club, which is located in Resources Building. YE Han and YANG Liu,students of IRMS also joined the alumni reception. The chairman of the Alumni Association of University of Michigan, Joe, presented her great gratefulness to professor WANG, for her big helps to the communications between Renmin University of China and University of Michigan.
The reception began at 7 p.m. with the eloquent speech of Kenneth Lieberthal, U-M Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of Political Science and William Davidson Professor of Business Administration, which is about "US-China Relations: Challenges or Opportunities". During the reception, all the gusts were happy to meet the old friends and got acquaintance to some new ones. They chatted and discussed cheerfully about their friendships and developments. Besides, the reception had also held various activities during the time, such as cocktails and lottery. All the gusts found out a great pleasure to be invited and the reception ended at the song of University of Michigan.
