On 2nd December, the first training class about academic essay writing for “Flame Cup” competition was held in Room 301 of SIRM. Professor An, Ph.D. of University of Liverpool, gave a lecture on the standards and processes of writing an academic paper. Her lecture answered lots of questions and solved many problems students came across during their writing.
The lecture proceeded from two parts, the standards and the writing processes. Professor An first explained the definition of the “standard” and the rules of standard using. She emphasized that academic paper writing should based on the academic accumulation and innovation. Then she listed the writing processes from topic selecting to acknowledgement, clarified details of every writing step with related cases. Following Professor An, students systematically learned the writing technique of academic paper which was very helpful for them.
