On the afternoon of December 29, 2017, 2017 Knowledge Management Forum, co-hosted by Information Resource Management School of Renmin University of China, CNKI (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. and Knowledge Management Center, was successfully held at the Information Resource Management School of Renmin University of China. The theme was "Archival Knowledge Services in the context of Big Data". More than 40 representatives from National Archives Bureau, China Archives Association, relevant ministries and commissions, Beijing Archives Bureau of Haidian District, Archives Bureau of Chaoyang District, Archives Bureau of Fengtai District, large-scale central enterprises and private enterprises, knowledge management centers, and faculty members and students of the school attended the forum.
The forum was chaired by Dr. Li Niu, the Associate Professor and assistant dean of the school.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Bin Zhang, the Dean of School of Information Resource Management, Renmin University of China, introduced the background, significance and theme of the forum and extended a warm welcome to the participants on behalf of the organizers. In his speech, Yanbin Wang pointed out that the new technologies emerging in recent years have posed many new challenges to the development of archives. In particular, the big data environment has put forward many new requirements for archival knowledge services. To this end archives sector should actively explore coping strategies, combine with the objective laws of archival work, discover archives industry supply-side reform needs, make the big data technology embedded in the needs of the development of archives, and enhance the service level of archives. Mr. Xiaojun Deng, Secretary General of China Archives Association, put forward many unique suggestions on how to accurately grasp the service direction, do good jobs in service upgrading, and grasp the transformation direction of the file work under the circumstances of big data. He looked forward to the participants actively contribute new programs and new wisdom.
Keynote speech stage
In the keynote speech stage of the forum, Professor Bin Zhang and Hao Qi, a postdoctoral fellow from the School of Labor and Human Resources, jointly presented a report entitled “Archival knowledge service based on file knowledge base”. Mr. Feng Zhou, Director of Document Department of State Grid Corporation of China, contributed a report on “Reflections on State Grid document library construction”. Mr. Xiubin Leng, Director of Security Document Office in China Huaneng Group made a report on “Large state-owned enterprise knowledge management status quo and demands”. Mr. Dalin Gao, China Aviation Industry Archives delivered a speech on “Big data, file and knowledge management”. Mr. Chong Ma, deputy director of Document Center of China Minsheng Banking Co., Ltd., reported on “Enterprise archive information services based on demands”. Mr. Zheng Yang, the archives expert from Beijing Oriental Botai Data Outsourcing Service Co., Ltd., presented a talking on “Positioning and development of archives staff in era of big data and knowledge management”. Finally, Mr. Xin Chen, the General Manager of Public Services Branch of Beijing CNKI, “Knowledge management and knowledge services for decision support". Subsequently, in the forum’s free speech and discussion stage, Yang Wang, Director of the Confidentiality Archives Division of China Power Construction Group, Wei Huang, Senior Manager of Party Secretary Office of China Minmetals Corporation, Qiang Wang, Deputy Director of the Archives of China National Petroleum Corporation, Xin Jinyuan, risk manager from Minsheng Financial Leasing Co., Ltd., Yulian Feng, Deputy Director of Fengtai District Archives and other representatives contributed to the in-depth discussions of topics on archival knowledge base and knowledge services, business knowledge management status and demands, opportunities and challenges of knowledge management in the environment of big data.
