SIRM delegations were invited to attend the 4th ICA-SAE Conference

 The Section on Archival Education and Training (SAE) held the 4th Asia-Pacific Conference on Archival Education on Monday 5 September in Seoul in conjunction with the International Congress on Archives. The theme was: Internationalization of Archival Education: Challenges, Opportunities, and Achievements.

 Dean of our school, Prof. Bin ZHANG, dean Assistant, Professor Jian WANG, adjunct Professor Ning ZHANG, doctoral students Xiaoshuang JIA, Tianjiao QI and master candidate Zilin LI were invited to attend the meeting and make wonderful speeches.

 Professor Bin ZHANG and master candidate Zilin LI gave the speech entitled "The study on China’s archives undergraduate professional curriculum construction and student professional curriculum satisfaction". On the basis of a general survey, this paper analyzed the current courses of archival program in Chinese universities, summarized the existing problems, and put forward some corresponding measures to improve the curriculum construction of Archives.

 Professor Jian WANG gave a speech of "Social Media—A New Platform for Archival Education", showing how the development of social media in China and how the Chinese archival education community applied the social media platform to improve archival education.

 The title of Professor Ning ZHANG ‘s speech is "Interaction and Improvement of Archival Education and Institutional Practice – China’s Case Study and Experience", showing that the cooperation between universities and enterprises in china could improve the professional skills of archives professionals by organizing the job skills training and professional knowledge contest among enterprise archivists. At the same time, it pointed out that the combination of archival education and institutional practice is helpful to improve the importance of archives work within the enterprise and promote the development of enterprise archival work.

 Doctoral students Xiaoshuang JIA, Tianjiao QI and Dr. Wenhong ZHOU from Sichuan University conducted a joint presentation entitled "Opportunities and Challenges: Internationalization of Archival Education from the Perspective of Students". On the one hand, they compared master’s degree courses of archive science in Renmin University of China with that in the University of British Columbia in Canada, it shows that the difference is an important motivation for Chinese students to "go abroad". On the other hand, they summarized the opportunities and challenges in the internationalization of archival education with their personal international learning experience, and emphasize the importance of opportunities, cooperation and innovation. They explained the archival education from the student point of view, which became the highlight of the meeting.
