On April 2nd, Archives Authenticity Distinguish Method Academic Seminar was held at Information Building room 301 in Renmin University. The meeting was hosted by School of Information Recourses Management. 35 experts from Renmin University, Tsinghua University, Peking University, and other organizations took part in the meeting.

The meeting started at 9 o’clock. Dean of SIRM, Professor Zhao Guojun addressed the welcoming speech. Deputy Chief of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Archives, Li Lijun then explained the importance of inherit and innovation of authenticity method and congratulate the success of the meeting beforehand.

Then, Professor Liu Jingsheng, associate professor He Zhuang and Professor Zhang Meifang made speeches one by one. Professor Liu Jingsheng reported on “Formation and Development of the Archives Identification Discipline”. He stated the background, development and related academic research of archives authenticity in Renmin University. He also explained the characteristic of the fake archives and the responsibility of archives worker. He pointed out that archives identification discipline had been grown up and had some development. He suggested that the relationship between archives identification and Chinese ancient civilization should be strengthened.

Professor He Zhuang made a speech on the review and introspection of the archives identification method. He first reviewed the documentary evidence, truth evidence, physical evidence and witness method, combed the origin and development of archives identification method and introspected the traditional method.

In the report “the application of modern technology and method in archives authenticity identification”, Professor Zhang Meifang introduced the archives carrier and appearance identification, application of modern technology and method and electronic archives authenticity identification problems in detail. She pointed out that the mature technology and method of Calligraphy and painting appraisal and judicial expertise could be fused with the traditional method.

After the keynote lecture, participants had a free discussion on archives memory authenticity and objectivity and other topics. They communicated about the successful experiences and academic achievements.

At last, Professor Liu Jingsheng summarized the meeting. He thanked all the experts and scholars contributed their opinions and methods to the archives authenticity identification method and reached an agreement.
 

The seminar achieved great success. It was the breaking point of archives authenticity identification method from tradition to modern. It was also the witness of the prosperous of this discipline.
