On December 15, 2007, “2007 China Information Resource Management Forum” was held by SIRM.

The subject of the forum was “develop and use information resource, fulfill the information resource strategic value fully”. Professor Zhao Guojun, Dean of SIRM held the conference in the morning. Professor Zhao thanked the attendants and delivered opening address.

Professor Feng Hui Ling, vice president of RUC gave warm presentation to review the development history of SIRM, to introduce the recent research of information resource abroad, to point out the vital significance of paying attention to information resource strategy value.

Researcher Zhao Xiaofan, Director of State Council Informatization Office, P. R. China gave presentation on “Advance National Informationization and Information Resource Development and Use”. Director Zhao introduced the national informationization organizations and agencies, the development strategy, the development, framework, main contents, implementation of No.34 policy on information development and use.

Researcher Peng Kai, Director of Beijing Information Resource Management Center gave presentation on “Service Practice of Beijing Information Resource Development and Use”, briefly introduced the information resource development and use practice.

Hou Weizhen, Associate Professor of SIRM gave presentation on “Estimate and Analysis on the Influence of Information Resource Development and Use in Economic society”, which was one of “985 projects” of Renmin University of China.

Zhang Bin, associate dean of SIRM chaired the seminar in the afternoon about the research project referred above. Chu Jun, Associate Professor of SIRM introduced the research thoughts and results in detail. The attendants all discussed actively on the topic and gave useful advice.
