On March 14, a lecture on "Smile in Beijing, Service Olympic Games Voluntarily, and Create Harmony altogether" was held in the 301 classroom of the Information Building. The lecture was given by Mr. Wang Dan, associate secretary of CPC SIRM committee, culture training teacher of Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee. Mr. Wang made comprehensive introduction to the Beijing culture, and proposed that the freshman especially Olympic Games volunteers should understand and feel Beijing in particular different angles. The freshman and the youth volunteers attended the lecture. Ji Hongbo, secretary of CPC SIRM committee, Ma Qing, secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee SIRM branch also attended the lecture.
In the lecture, Mr. Wang Dan introduced and elaborated Beijing culture based on "harmony". From Beijing geographic name to construction style, Beijing’s geographical position to each race’s cultural mark, the "sea of the botanical garden", the "streets and lanes with local style", the "Peking opera" and so on, the lecture was splendid, and won warm applauses from the attendants.
