Yu Changxue, diplomat of Consulate-General of China in New York gave lecture to SIRM



Dec 13, 2006, Yu Changxue, diplomat of Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in New York gave lecture in 301 classroom of SIRM. He was invited by Professor Wangjian,assistant dean of SIRM in charge of international communication. The topic of his lecture is "How to communicate with foreigners". This lecture is one of the Olympic English series lectures held by SIRM. Ji Hongbo, Communist Party Secretary of SIRM told the students the aims and meanings of lectures on Olympic English of SIRM and warmly welcomed Mr. Yu to give lecture to the students.
Mr. Yu, First Secretary, leader of education group of Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in New York in charge of oversea students from June, 2002 to July, 2006. He was in charge of the management and service of oversea students, like organize students to welcome leaders of China who visit US; organize oversea students to join the parade of international culture immigration; organize self-supporting oversea students’ scholarship appraisal; receive education investigation group from China and so on. In the lecture, Mr. Yu introduced basic knowledge on international communication manners; include manners on meeting, daily communicating, banquet and requirements of health and dressing. The general rule on communicating with foreign guests is to be natural, generous and appropriate.
Mr. Yu talked about his experiences on the international communication work vividly and thoroughly. The lecture was rich in contents and easy to understand. The 301 classroom was full of students. They listened carefully and actively asked questions. Mr. Yu earnestly answered the questions and hoped the students cherish the opportunity to join the volunteer service of 2008 Olympic Games and service well.
