2009 China Knowledge Management Forum

2009 China Knowledge Management Forum was held in school meeting room301 of SIRM on 25th December. The forum was co-hosted by School of Information Recourses Management of Renmin University, China Knowledge Management Center and China Knowledge Management Lab. More than 70 deputies from about 40 organizations, companies, universities took part in the forum. The forum was chaired by Zhao Lina, the KM associate director of Sinotrust.

During the meeting, Tian Zhigang first explained the criteria of KM personage and announced the “2008 knowledge management personage”—Han Jianxin, manager of northwest&southwest China, Zhuhai Zhongfu. Professor Zhang, assistant dean of SIRM awarded honorary certificate to him.

Then Professor Zhang delivered a speech titled as “Step Out the Erroneous Zone of Knowledge Management”. He summarized the KM theories and practices in China and foreign countries. He analyzed the relationship between borrowing and innovation, technology and management, current and future. He also pointed out that we should build China’s own KM theory system and explore our own KM model.

After professor Zhang, Cai Yingfang, chief of Aviation Industry Archives technically interpret his understanding of KM by discussing the construction of knowledge base in KM. Next, Tian Zhigang, the well-known knowledge management expert and founder of Knowledge Management Center, analyzed the existing problems and solutions in the practice of KM by contrasting the first and second generation China KM.

Han Jianxin, as the winner of 2009 KM personage, also gave a lecture on “Knowledge Management — Power of Wish Fulfillment”. He talked about the importance of KM and the implementation experience of KM in enterprise. He also shared some key success factors of KM.

During the discussion section, professor An Xiaomi presented her opinion on some frontier issues of KM theory. She also posted several suggestions on the promotion of KM research. As last, professor Zhang summarized the forum by six keywords: high grade, high effect, high spirits, thankfulness and blessing.
