At the evening of April 2nd, invited by SIRM, the well-known scholar, writer Sa Su gave the first lecture of “Flame Cup” academic forum on his own experience in the earthquake of Japan. His lecture was named as “Start with the Earthquake—a Chinese Engineer living in Japan talking about Japanese Culture”. He explained Japanese culture in detail during the lecture. Sa Su has published many popular books, such as “Chinese Cook”, “Marry to Eunuch”, and so on.
At 18:30, Sa Su started his lecture in our expectation. Because of his experience living in Japan, he had some more understandings on Japanese culture. He talked about the conformation to the law in Japan and also put forward a question: why we should know Japan? He pointed out that there were many similarities between Japan and China during the development of economy, especially on social contradictions. We should learn more about Japan and their experiences to construct our own country.
During the Q&A section, many students put questions to Sa Su. He answered them all. The meeting ended in the warm discussion. Some students also went forward to the platform to communicate with Sa after the meeting.
By listening to the lecture, students got more understandings of Japanese culture and had a more objective cognition on the relationship between China and Japan. Most students showed very keen interests on this kind of lecture and hope there would be more lectures in the future.
