November 16-16, 2016, the Annual Meeting of Chinese Archivist Association was held in Guangzhou. A SIRM delegation, which consisted of Dean of School of Information Resource Management professor Bin ZHANG, professor Hongjie HU, deputy party secretary Yongjun XU, associate professor Yi QIAN, associate professor Li NIU and some master and doctoral students, participated in the conference. The conference is sponsored by the State Archives Bureau, organized by the Chinese Society of Archives, co-organized by the Institute of Archives Science and Technology of Sun Yat-sen University. The theme of the meeeting is "Archival Work in the Big Data Age". Basic Theory Academic Committee of Chinese Society of Archives undertook a sub-forum of "Archives and National Governance" and its keynote speech was chaired by Associate Professor Li NIU, the secretary general of the Chinese Society of Archives.
The SIRM delegation actively involved in the meeting, and exchanged experiences and knowledge with archivists from across the country.
