On Jan 24,2007, Professor Yong-Jae Lee and doctoral student Wei Chengguang form Department of Library, Archive & Information Studies in Pusan National University visited SIRM, signed the cooperation communication agreement and discussed the cooperation between the two schools. This was the first cooperation communication agreement of SIRM signed with Korea even Asian university, and both schools paid high attention to it.

At 9:30 in the morning, the ceremony of signing cooperation communication agreement and symposium was held, and professor Wang Jiang, assistant dean of SIRM, chaired the ceremony. Professor Zhao Guojun, associate dean of SIRM represented SIRM warmly welcomed Professor Yong-Jae Lee. Professor Feng Huiling, vice president of RUC, dean of SIRM signed cooperation communication agreement with Department of Library, Archive & Information Studies in Pusan National University. The cooperation included exchanging publications, sending professors to do visiting lectures, exchanging students, cooperating to do research project and so on.

Professor Zhang Bin, associate dean and Ji Hongbo, Party branch secretary of SIRM and Professor Guo Lizhu, Professor Liu Gengsheng, Professor Zhou Xiaoying attended the symposium. The two schools introduced each faculty, research fields and agreed that both had many interests and communication opportunities in the teaching and researching field.

After the symposium, the Korea visitors visited the library of RUC, Tsinghua University and Peking University, especially visited the collection room, reference room, preservation room and micro lab. The Korea visitors highly praised the rich faulty and teaching resource, impressive communication level of SIRM. They said they appreciate the opportunity to cooperation with SIRM and would promote the cooperation of the two schools.

At 16:00 in the afternoon, Professor Yong-Jae Lee and doctoral student Wei Chengguang and so on attended the opening ceremony of Korean language training class in SIRM with the accompany of Professor Wang Jian, and warmly communicated with the students of SIRM, also encourage students to study Korean language and culture and welcome students of SIRM to study in PNU.

PNU is the famous university of Korea and the Department of Library; Archive & Information Studies has developed quickly recently. The research topic came down to the frontier of the record and archives field worldwide. After signed agreement, the two schools would have more discussion and cooperation on the detail cooperation project.
