On October 27, 2007, Dr. Xu Yongjun of SIRM participated in "the Olympic Games inheritance expert consultation symposium" by the invitation of Beijing Development and Reformation Committee. At the meeting, Dr. Xu Yongjun stated: Strengthen the accumulation and inheritance of Beijing Olympic Games literature.
Dr. Xu Yongjun pointed out that, in the application, preparation and conduction process of the Olympic Games, Olympic Games related organizations and individuals will create many kinds of literatures with rich contents (including various records, archives, books, publications, materials and some cultural relics).These literatures recorded history and carried knowledge, reflected the entire process and results of Olympic Games, recorded the thoughts and wisdom of Olympic Games organizers and participants. These literatures are the precious history wealth and society memories of the city, country holding Olympic Games and even the world. Thus, accumulating and inheriting the Olympic Games literature inheritance is extremely significant. Dr. Xu Yongjun has also analyzed some questions of the Beijing Olympic Games literature inheritance management, and put forward the corresponding improvement suggestions.
