On Jun 20th, 2009, “The National Strategy of Electronic Records Management International Academic Seminar” was held in Shaw Conference Center. The conference was organized by School of Information Resources Management and “the National Strategy of Electronic Records Management” seminar of the National Natural Science Foundation. The participants were the experts and scholars from America, Holland, Canada, and Australia and so on. The leaders of the state archives bureau and provincial archives were also invited. The guests and the professors discussed the hot topics of electronic records together with the students in the conference. The chief of the state archives bureau, Yang Dongquan took part in and delivered a speech in the opening ceremony.
During the conference, many foreign experts gave speeches and brought us advanced management experiences. Many of the international standards and national standards were worth studying. The conference provided an international communication and corporation stage for us. It also promoted the resources sharing of the electronic records. Feng Huiling, the vice president of RUC, expressed the hope that all the participants should fully absorb the earnings, learn from the advanced countries to offset our weakness and solve the problems and challenges we met in the construction of digital archives and the management of electronic records.
