On April 24^th, 2010 Information Recourses Management Forum was held in RUC information building. Dean of School of IRM, Zhao Guojun chaired the opening ceremony, Vice-President of University, Feng Huiling, and Deputy Director of State Archives Bureau, Li Heping attended the meeting and gave speeches. Experts and students from the General Office of CCCPC, State Council Informationization Consultative Committee, State Archives Bureau, People’s Liberation Army General Staff Headquarters Secrets Bureau, etc. , more than 100 people participated in the forum.

 

The theme of the forum is “Promoting Utilization by Exploitation, Raising the Development and Utilization of Archives to a higher level”. Vice-President Feng stated the significant meaning, directions and principles of the development and utilization of archives. She also pointed out that the theme of this forum had its own theoretical value and practical significance.

 

After the opening ceremony, the forum stepped into the first stage which was hosted by Dean Zhao. The researcher from Informationization Consultative Committee, Zhao Xiaofan, published his report “The National Informationization and Information Recourses Development and Utilization”. Then, the head of State Archives Bureau Technology Office, Wang Liangcheng, gave his lecture on “The General Situation and Future Tendency of Archive Information Recourses Development and Utilization in China ”. The last speaker in the first stage was Professor Zhang Bin from Renmin University School of Information Recourses Management. He talked about “Archive Information Recourses Exploitation and Construction of Think Bank”. He introduced the new concept “Think Bank” in detail and represented the necessity of the construction of think band and the facing problems.

 

The forum went into stage two in the afternoon which was hosted by researcher Cai Xuemei from State Archives Bureau Technology Office. Deputy Director of Tianjin Archives Bureau, Fang Yun, gave speech on “Discussion on the Value-Added Exploitation of Archives Information Recourses”. Researcher Zhao Jiangqing from Shanghai Archives Bureau, and Researcher Chen Wei from Beijing Archives Bureau Informationization, then delivered speeches separately. Zhao talked about the publicity of government information while Chen introduced the work Beijing Archives Bureau did in digital archive project.

 

After the speeches, the participants discussed the relevant problems. The forum ended after the warm discussion.
