From Jan 29 to Feb 9, 2007, Korean and Chinese culture communication project of Korean class of RUC held by the Research Institute of Korean and Chinese Thoughts in RUC was carrying out in Korea. Five students from SIRM: Wu Shangyu (Korean student), Yang Wei, Zhang Lishu, Liu Zixi and Tang Dewen took part in this project.
The aim of this project is to advance the communication between Korean and RUC college students, to advance the academic communication between Korean universities and RUC, to let students of Korean class experience the cultures and customs in Korea, and to attract more college students join in the communication between Korean and Chinese cultures.
On Jan 29, doctor Li Mintai led visiting group arrived at Inchon Airport. Mr. Ming Guinan, chief of the Research Institute of Korean and Chinese Thoughts welcomed the visiting group in the airport. Wu Shangyu, Korean student of SIRM was the Korean interpreter of the visiting group. In the 11 day’s visiting, the visiting group visited four cities: Seoul, Kwangju, Kyongju, Pusan and visited Korean universities like Seoul University, Korea University, Ewha Women’ University, Chungnam National University, Yonsei University, Pusan National University, Soon Chun Hyang University and so on. The visiting group Visited Blue House of Korea, Seoul government office area Yoido, Parliament Building of Korea, Kwangju City Hall and M-net Media Company of Korea, as well as visited some representative famous history cultural places. During the visiting, Mr. Zheng Qinglai, congressman of Korea chatted with students about how college students could make contribution to the country. On the last day of the visiting, the visiting group took part in the seminar of the Research Institute of Korean and Chinese Thoughts in Pusan University and communicated with students of Pusan University on how college students could advance the communication between Korean and Chinese cultures. In the mean time, with the invitation, five students of SIRM visited Department of Library, Archive & Information Studies in Pusan National University, which signed the cooperation communication agreement with SIRM on Jan 24 and listened to the report on the development of the Department of Library, Archive & Information Studies in Pusan National University. Li Shu, Undergraduate of SIRM, who studies in Pusan National University now, took part in the communication activities.
Korean class of RUC, the first project of Korean and Chinese culture communication, has been developed for two years. This culture communication activity of visiting Korea will highly inspire the students’ passion of learning Korean, and will help improve Korean of Korean class students. In this 11 days’ visiting, five students of SIRM had boarded their insights, improved their Korean and had good effects in advancing the communication between students of Korean universities and RUC, advancing further cooperation between Korean and Chinese universities.
