2009 China Information Resources Management Forum

On 12th December, “2009 China Information Resources Management Forum”, co-hosted by Beijing Information Recourses Management Center(Beijing IRMC) and SIRM of Renmin University of China, was held in Room 301 of School of IRM. The theme of this forum is the innovation and development of China Information Resources Industry. Many specialists from National Information Center, Beijing IRMC, Wanfang Data and SIRM of Renmin University, did several theme statements during the forum. Many scholars, teachers and students from Renmin University came to take part in the forum.

The forum started at 9 o’clock in the morning. The Dean of SIRM Zhao Guojun chaired the opening ceremony. Vice-president Feng Huiling addressed the meeting. She stressed the theme of the meeting and its necessity. She also hoped that this forum could help the development of the information industry. The researcher Peng Kai from Beijing IRMC gave a lecture to emphasized the file No. 34 thinking that the strategy of progressing the information resources industry could do favor to the no pollution plan. He also wished the forum a complete success.

After the opening ceremony, the forum stepped into the first stage hosted by researcher Peng. Doctor Mu from Beijing IRMC made a speech on “recycle of government information resources and development of the industry”. He introduced the background of information recycle and its significance to the development of information industry. He suggested that the government should establish relative policies to support information recycle enterprises. The government should publish information with low cost or cost-free to promote the industry progress. Doctor Yang from Renmin University talked about the increment, exploitation and utilization of information resources in European and American governments. Combined with her oversea experience, she evaluated the information of public sectors, stressed the importance of the admission, copyright, and charge reformation of public sectors.

After the break, the meeting came to the second stage chaired by Dean Zhao. In this section, Chen Yulong from National Information Center delivered a speech on “policy design of the increment and development of information resources socialization”. Then researcher Sun Wei from Wanfang Data introduced new model and organization method of information organization structure. At last, Professor Hou from SIRM addressed a speech titled as “the characteristics of information resources industry and the optimization of information policy”. He mainly presented the industry boundary and optimization of policy with the emphasis on the value of own-industry encourages system.

The forum ended successfully with the acknowledgement Professor Hou expressed to the guests, teachers and students.
